Hypnosis Relaxation Therapies
Therapeutic Method to Release and Breath Out
It is a well known fact that relaxation can be good for you. However, did you know that some professionals use relaxation as part of their techniques? This is the case with Hypnosis Relaxation Therapies.
A person is certainly in a position to be convinced when they are more relaxed. There are less barriers present, and a person’s psyche can be more easily navigated by the therapist.
You might wonder how the patients or clients get into a state like this and why it would be good for them. Many have reported that they have benefited from hypnosis. People receive suggestions on behaviour modification more readily. It is as if it becomes embedded in their subconscious.
For example, they might be told by the therapist that they will no longer find smoking relaxing or appealing. When they awake, this suggestion is more like something they are willing to put into practice because it might be now one of their core beliefs.
Another example of suggestibility is if a hypnotherapist suggests to a person with arthritis that they can simply dial down their pain like the volume of the radio. When the person then goes about their daily life, the individual feels like it is easier to just ignore the pain and even have some control in modulating it.
Therapeutic Technique
Relaxation is not a complex process but it is a specific therapeutic technique. A person should sit in a quiet room free of distractions for this exercise. Then the person tenses a specific muscle group for 15 seconds. Then they release it and breath out.
After a rest period, the person goes about the exercise this time using variant muscles. Then slowly, different groups of muscles are combined together in the tension period. The point is that the participant will notice what it is like to actually relax their muscles as opposed to tensing them up.
Guided Visualisation
There is also another technique used in relaxation called visualisation. Here the person will envision a scenario that is peaceful. The guide will take a person through this exercise if it is a guided visualisation.
Typical imagery for these types of exercises are scenes like beaches or even wooded cabins. Sometimes the person is asked to choose what type of image that they find the most relaxing. It can help them to calm down and start to invigorate their imagination. Usually the tension just melts away during these exercises.
