Hypnosis for High Blood Pressure
Because people often don’t become aware of it until their medical problems actually emerge, high blood pressure is often referred to as a silent killer.
Because of this it is of paramount importance to get your blood pressure checked on a regular basis.
At each visit to your medical provider your blood pressure will be checked, but to be even more regular you can monitor it by yourself as many drug stores now have a machine to check your blood pressure.
It is also possible to buy a small monitor that you can use at home.
High blood pressure is something you cannot afford as it can lead to a number of serious health issues, such as:
- Trouble sleeping
- Bone loss
- Sexual dysfunction
- stroke, dementia, or other brain damage
- coronary artery disease or heart failure
- kidney failure
- aneurysms or artery damage
- damage in the retina, blood vessels, or nerves of your eyes
Most people who get diagnosed with high blood pressure will receive medication for it, but hypnotism has also been shown to have very positive effects on high blood pressure.
At the University of Paris a study was undertaken to demonstrate that hypnotism can be effective for lowering blood pressure in the long, medium, and short terms.
Likewise, a study conducted at the University of Tennessee demonstrated that hypnotism in combination with psychotherapy is actually more effective for reducing high blood pressure than medication alone.
According to the Mayo Clinic, the following 10 lifestyle changes can also lower your blood pressure:
- Lower your stress
- Cut down on caffeine
- Consume less alcohol
- Consume less sodium
- Lose weight
- Eat a healthy diet
- Exercise regularly
- Quit smoking
- Seek out support from friends and family
- See your doctor regularly, and monitor your blood pressure at home between visits
This may sound like a lot of bad habits to break at once, but you should know that hypnotism can be used to help you make each and every one of the changes mentioned above.
